Yes — and not a crippled free. Motion detection, on-device AI, pre-motion recording, security modes, live view and local recordings are free forever, because they run on your own devices. Premium adds convenience on top: more cameras, cloud evidence storage, unlimited backups and no ads. During early access, absolutely everything is free.
No — and not because we pinky-promise. Recordings live on your camera phone; the AI runs inside the phone; live video travels device-to-device with end-to-end WebRTC encryption. Our server only introduces your devices to each other. If you enable Dropbox backup, clips go straight from your phone to your Dropbox — never through us.

Any Android phone from roughly the last 8 years typically works. Older phones make great cameras — plug them in, mount them, and the app auto-restarts after power cuts and protects the battery.
Three things nobody gives you free: the AI runs on the device (private, no cloud analysis), clips include the seconds before the motion (you see them approaching), and you can back up to your own cloud. Plus real alarm-system behaviour: arming, modes, siren and a spoken warning.
Yes — anywhere with internet. Live video connects directly between your devices; when a direct path isn't possible, an encrypted relay steps in automatically.
Watching live uses data like a video call, and quality adjusts to the connection. The camera side has a Data Saver mode for mobile-data cameras, and motion alerts themselves are tiny.
Subscriptions will be handled by Google Play — cancel anytime in a couple of taps, and you keep Premium until the period ends. If you cancel, you drop to the free tier; your cameras and recordings stay yours.
